As with my work as a performer, I can draw on a wide range of skills and experience to in various fields of tuition and education. I have devised and co-led a number of workshops, taking brass instruments and chamber music into schools from South London to South Wales, at both primary and secondary levels (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4). As part of the BBC's 'Endangered Species' scheme, and more recently with the government's Wider Opportunities programme, I have introduced the experience of playing a brass instrument to pupils across a similar age-range. I have played an active role in Gloucestershire Music's Wider Opportunities programme (2008-2010) and in the London Borough of Newham's 'Every Child a Musician' scheme from 2011. I offer tuition for learners of all ages in the following disciplines, at the levels shown: - Trombone (including bass trombone), baritone/euphonium (Beginner - Advanced) - Other brass instruments by arrangement (Beginner - Intermediate) - Piano (Beginner - Intermediate) - Music Theory & Practical Musicianship (Beginner - Advanced) - Conducting (Beginner - Advanced) - Composition & Orchestration (Beginner - Advanced) I am also able to offer workshops and lecture-recitals, as well as illustrated talks and seminars on various topics; see the writings page for examples. Please contact me with any enquiries; I will be happy to supply further information (including references &c.) on request.
